Accessibility
Built to be read by everyone.
PickMeUp is for whole families, grandparents included. This page says what we check, what we measured, and where we know we still fall short — rather than claiming perfection.
What this covers
This statement is about this website: the home page, pricing, FAQ, how we make money, about, contact, terms, privacy and this page, in English and Swedish.
It does not cover the PickMeUp app for iPhone or Android. If something in the app is hard to use, write to us anyway — the same address below reaches the people who build it.
The standard we aim at
WCAG 2.2, level AA — the level that EN 301 549 points at for a web service. This is our own assessment, last made on 29 October 2026. It is not a third-party audit and it is not a statutory declaration; where we have not verified something, we say so below instead of implying a certificate we do not hold.
What we checked, and what we measured
- Contrast. Measured on the two surfaces this site actually uses — the paper background
#fbfaf8and the tinted band#f3f1ec: body text 17.1:1 and 15.8:1, secondary text 9.9:1 and 9.2:1, muted text 6.1:1 and 5.6:1, links 6.4:1 and 5.9:1. Every pair clears the 4.5:1 minimum, and the tightest of them has room to spare. - Keyboard. Every page starts with a skip link, focus is always visible (a 2 px ring, never removed), and the mobile menu is a native
<details>element — it opens with Enter or Space and is announced as a disclosure, not a mystery. - No executable JavaScript. The site ships none. The only
<script>elements anywhere are JSON-LD data blocks for search engines, which are inert. Nothing disappears, reorders or stops working when scripts are blocked. - Motion. All animation is CSS-only, switched off entirely under reduce motion, and off when you print.
- Text size. Type is set in
rem, with a 14 px floor for labels and 12 px as the absolute minimum. Nothing is fixed-width, so zooming to 200 % reflows instead of clipping. - Language. Each page declares English or Swedish, and the language switch keeps you on the page you were reading.
- Structure. One
h1per page, headings in order, real landmarks (header, nav, main, footer), and every navigation region labelled. - Images and icons. Icons are decorative and hidden from screen readers. The one photograph — the app screenshot on the home page — describes what it shows.
- Nothing timed, nothing moving on its own. No time limits, no autoplay, no flashing, no CAPTCHA. Contact is by email, so there is also no form to get stuck in.
Where we know we fall short
- This is a self-assessment. We have not paid for an external audit, and we do not run a screen-reader pass together with a disabled user on every release — we do it before a release and after any redesign. That is a real limitation, not a formality.
- The site exists in English and Swedish only. The app also speaks Arabic; the website does not.
- The app is outside this statement, and we have no separate published statement for it yet.
- Very old browsers: the layout uses modern CSS. Text still reads, links still work and nothing is hidden, but spacing is plainer in browsers older than about 2021.
Tell us when something doesn't work
Email support@pickmeup.one with the page you were on and what happened — a screenshot helps, and so does the name of the browser or screen reader you were using.
We aim to answer within five working days. If we can fix it quickly we will, and we will tell you what we changed. If we cannot, we will say so plainly, tell you what we can offer instead, and log it for the next round of work. We can also send any part of this site in another form on request — plain text, or larger type.
